San Leandro, what a place! Last time we played there it was 116 degrees. Todays trick was turning on the sprinklers for twenty minutes before game time delaying the start by 15 minutes. This made for a wonderfully rugged infield that challenged every third baseman and shortstop. Can't wait to go across the Bay to Albert Field. Dr. Guy Peabody did his best imitation of Giant's draftee Buster Posey by playing all nine positions for NYG today. After the game Guy and Buster still have one thing in common, they're not signed to contracts with the Giants! but maybe they could use a dentist someday. |

930 AM Game Tokyo kept its mythical pennant hopes alive behind the stalwart pitching of Joe Gagliardo and Mark Gemello and a timely 10-hit attack to stifle the NY Giants. Newby Matt McGough and Gags both had a double and a single while Mike Shaffer checked in with two base hits of his own. Mark Gemello, Keith DaCosta, Gordon Smmons, and Randy Saladana belted bingles to complete the Giant attack. Today, Mark Gemello discovered that some things never change. When you throw two straight curve balls to a batter who flails away missing by several centimeters your next pitch is a... fast ball down the middle?? Yep, he did and he saw it rocket passed him for a hit. The New York boys just couldn't get enough hits by more Giants to make a difference today. Carl Vargas and Terry Lee made singletons, Tenner Schmuck and Mike Miller smacked two hits each and Coach Rich Weil belted out three hits but everyone else was apparently still in New York. |

1 PM Game Apparently Heath Keller IS the key to the San Francisco Giants success. Mike Desjardines almost proved the lie to this contention but apparently falling off a boat dock last week WILL injure you to the point of incapacitation which occurred at the very end of the second inning. Steve Bennett fell down catching a can of corn to centerfield but then DJ was laying prone on the mound moaning. Oh well, Dr Guy turned in six great innings but the Giant bats were quiet today. I guess we miss the "ping" of Weishaar's titanium bludgeon. Coach DeWitt led the effort to avoid defeat with a double and two singles. Mike Desjardins smacked two mighty doubles while Moochy and the Colonel each slapped two singles apiece. Ruben Donig chipped in a single to round off the Giant effort.
